This means that, yes, your insurance will cover your dental work in our office, but your out of pocket investment will be slightly higher.
Our dental office is what is called a FEE FOR SERVICE PRACTICE (FFS), meaning we haven’t blindly signed a contract with any insurance company. This allows us the freedom to provide higher dental and treatment care without being influenced by insurance by having to “fit into the plan’s package”. All while keeping our fees below average.
When a provider is contracted with an insurance company, they agree to reduce their fees by about 30% in exchange for them advertising to patients that they are “in network” and should go to that provider. Yes, you get lessor fees, but here is what you give up:
Providers must make these decisions in order to meet cost restrictions from having to reduce their fees by 30% from being an “in network” or contracted provider. Since we are not losing that 30%, we can lower our fees to below the 50% average, yet still have enough profit to reinvest in your care.
