ABOUT US

Dr. Lord's Story

Devoted to Patient Care

Dr. Lord started his journey to becoming a dentist when he was a young kid and found he really liked the environment of his family’s dental office. He thought he would like to work somewhere like that; a happy place where he could help people. And so began the makings of a dentist.

Growing up, he spent a lot of his time in music and sports. He played baseball, football, and volleyball. Singing and music were also a big part of his family’s life. He sang in high school, he sang at his nephew’s wedding, his best friend’s wedding, and he even serenaded his wife at their wedding dinner! He also learned to play the saxophone and saved all his money so he could buy himself a saxophone – which later landed him a music scholarship to the University of Utah. He even played in the school’s marching band! There is a picture of it on display in our front office.  He worked as an electrician remodeling homes. This taught him great problem-solving skills and how to be good with his hands – which later came in handy during his years in dental school.

At the age of 19, he served a two-year mission for his church in Paraguay. He learned to speak Spanish and Guarani.

After returning from Paraguay, he resumed his studies at the University of Utah. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Medical Biology.

Dr. Lord received the Dean’s Scholarship to the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, CA. He graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2006.

He has enjoyed his experiences participating in 3rd world country dental missions and community outreach programs.

Dr. Lord is a member of the Gordon Christensen Study Club.

Dr. Lord has taken many continuing education courses and has become extremely proficient in restorative dentistry. He believes in educating his patients, so they are better equipped to take care of their oral health. He also believes in creating an office and a staff that is supportive and cares for the patient. Together, they are dedicated to treating all patients in a fair and equal manner; all choices are arrived at by the patients – guided by the staff.

Dr. Lord has been married for 21 years and has 4 children. They enjoy exploring their home state of Utah together, watching movies, going to high school football games and cheering on the marching band during halftime, going to marching band competitions and band concerts. During his spare time, he volunteers many hours weekly in his church, plays his saxophone in impromptu concerts with his kids, and loves to play games with his kids.
